Order
"For God is not a God of confusion but of peace... Let all things be done decently and in order."
– 1 Corinthians 14:33, 40
One of the great invitations in our walk with Christ is to bring our lives back into divine order. Order is the intentional arrangement and prioritization of life — putting first things first. When our lives are ordered, we experience greater clarity, peace, and fruitfulness. When things are out of order, confusion, stress, and inefficiency tend to follow. Life simply works better when it is aligned with God’s design. As leaders, it is paramount that we live and lead with order.
The following are a few key scriptural truths on living with Order:
Our God Is a God of Order: Throughout Scripture, we see how deeply God values order. Creation itself reflects intentional design. Our salvation through Jesus was planned before the foundation of the world. “He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake.” (1 Peter 1:20) Before Jeremiah was born, God had already established his purpose. “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you.” (Jeremiah 1:5) From Noah’s instructions for the ark, to Solomon’s temple, to the way Jesus structured His days, Scripture consistently reveals that our God is not random or reactive — He is purposeful and ordered. When we align our lives with His order, we position ourselves to flourish.
Order Clarifies Priorities and Increases Effectiveness: We will always spend our time and energy on what we prioritize. Living with order requires intentionality. If we do not define our priorities, the world will gladly do it for us — especially in a digital age filled with distractions. Order helps us focus on the “big rocks” of life and steward our time, energy, and attention wisely. “Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.” (Ephesians 5:15–16) An ordered life increases productivity, excellence, and effectiveness — both personally and professionally. Disorder wastes energy. Order multiplies it. When life is aligned properly, progress becomes sustainable.
With Divine Order Comes Divine Blessing: God makes it clear that He desires to be first in every area of our lives. “You shall have no other gods before me.”(Exodus 20:3) When we prioritize God as our First Fruit, He promises to provide what we need. “Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” (Matthew 6:33) This principle is simple but powerful: order precedes blessing. When God is first, everything else finds its proper place. I am fully convinced — both from Scripture and personal experience — that when we place God at the center and highest priority of our lives, His blessing follows in both spiritual and practical ways.
Scripture reminds us that living according to God’s order brings tangible fruit. “Do not forget my teaching… for they will prolong your life many years and bring you peace.” (Proverbs 3:1–2) Order brings greater peace, margin, and clarity. It minimizes self-inflicted chaos so we can face life’s inevitable challenges with strength and faith. An ordered life increases our capacity — relationally, financially, and spiritually — and expands our influence for the Kingdom.
Challenge Question: What area of my life may be out of order today, and what is one practical step God is inviting me to take to realign my priorities around Him?
Prayer: Lord, thank You for being a God of peace and order. Search our hearts and reveal anything that is misaligned in our lives. Help us reorder our priorities around You and live with intentionality, wisdom, and clarity. As we put You first, teach us to steward our time, relationships, and resources in a way that brings You glory and advances Your Kingdom. Amen.
As we lean into 2026, I pray we will seek the Lord and ask Him to order our lives in a way that will make the biggest impact for His Kingdom!
