"They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony..."

– Revelation 12:11

Last week, we talked about Marketplace Ministry— how God calls us to minister not just in the church, but in and through our everyday lives and leadership. One of the most powerful and practical ways we live this out is by sharing our testimony — our story of God.

Recently, at our Abide & Lead offsite intensive at Heritage Farms, I had the opportunity to share my testimony with our cohort. I did this to model something I believe is foundational to our faith and leadership —we all have a story (testimony) that God wants to use for His glory. I challenged each leader to develop and share a clear, 10-minute “TED Talk” version of their testimony this year.

Your testimony is one of the most powerful tools you have forMarketplace Ministry. Your testimony is simply the story of what God has done in your life — your life before, how you experienced the life-changing power of Jesus, and how He has transformed you into who you are today. It is personal, authentic, and uniquely yours. And when shared with humility and love, it becomes a powerful seed that God uses to impact others.

  • Your Testimony Carries the Power of God:Your story is not just your story — it is evidence of God’s grace and power at work. They triumphed… by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.”Revelation 12:11Right up there with the amazing power of Christ, “the blood of the Lamb” is the power of a life transformed by God. People may question their beliefs, but they cannot deny the transformative power of change. Your testimony points directly to Jesus as the source of that transformation. In the marketplace, your story can break down barriers, build trust, and open doors for conversations that might not otherwise happen.

  • Your Testimony Creates Connection and Builds Trust: Sharing your story invites others into a deeper, more authentic relationship.Always be prepared to give an answer… for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.”1 Peter 3:15 When we share our journey — including our struggles, failures, and growth — it creates vulnerability and relatability. It allows others to see that faith is not about perfection, but transformation. I’ve found that in leadership, especially in business, people don’t just follow vision — they follow authenticity. When your team understands your story, it gives context to your values, your leadership, and your purpose. Your testimony builds bridges.

  • Your Testimony Multiplies: God doesn’t ask us to have a perfect story — He asks us to be willing to share it.We cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.Acts 4:20When we share our testimony, we are sowing seeds. And as we’ve discussed in recent weeks, God is the one who brings the harvest. Every time you share your story:You strengthen your own faith,You encourage others in theirs,You plant seeds that may lead to another transformed life and eternal impact. This is how ministry multiplies — one story at a time.

As leaders, sharing our testimony is one of the most natural and powerful ways we integrate faith into our everyday leadership and live out Marketplace Ministry. We often think about influence in terms of strategy, performance, and results. But some of the most meaningful influence we will ever have comes through simply sharing what God has done in our lives. Your testimony is not just part of your past — it is a tool for your present and a seed for eternal impact. When we integrate our faith into our leadership and are willing to share our story, our businesses and relationships become platforms for Ministry. God uses ordinary stories, surrendered to Him, to do extraordinary things.

Challenge Question: Can you clearly and confidently share your 10-minute testimony — and who is one person God is prompting you to share it with this week? When was the last time you shared your testimony?

Prayer: Father, thank You for the story You are writing in each of our lives. Give us the courage and humility to share what You have done in us and through us. Use our testimony to encourage others, build faith, and draw people closer to You. Help us to lead with authenticity and boldness as we live out our calling in the marketplace and beyond. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Have a great week sharing your God story and allowing God to use it for His glory!
